AN ARTISTS IMAGE..

Artists can be shown through a text, this includes the way they are represented whether it be through their appearance, album covers, photo shoots, magazine covers, on adverts, music videos and general appearances. Over time they seem to build up their 'image', which makes them unique as an artist. People then associate the genre of music with that artists appearance and style.  It can also be created or shown through the actual song, the lyrics, the names and the stage image. An artist isn't a text however in their complete media product these three factors, image, language of the songs and sound all combine to form texts. How all this appears in the videos, posters, adverts and appearances is just as important as the music.
